Taking Care of Oily Skin

Oily skin is most common in the teenage years, but it can affect men and women at any age. Some people get oily skin at puberty and keep it for a lifetime. It is generally brought on by hormones. Oil production is stimulated by hormone production. Hormones can fluctuate during times of stress. Women experience hormonal changes throughout life with menstrual cycles, pregnancy and menopause.

Oily skin can lead to pores that are clogged causing pimples and blackheads. Oily skin also leads to acne in many people. In fact, oily skin is the main cause of acne. This type of skin should be treated differently than other types of skin. No matter what your age is there are steps that can be taken to reduce the amount of oil on the skin.

Oily Face

You might think that you need to wash away all of the oil. The truth is, the skin needs some oil to be healthy. Oil lubricates the skin and gives it a healthy glow and protection. Harsh cleansers may irritate the skin and actually cause it to produce more oil resulting in an overly oily face. You need to be gentle with oily skin. A good cleanser for oily skin will gently remove excess oil while leaving fatty acids that protect the skin. Soaps should be avoided as it tends to remove too much oil leaving skin dry and taut. Avoid over washing oily skin because it could be irritating. Two times per day is usually enough.

Many people with oily skin avoid moisturizers. This is not a good idea, especially if you are past your teenage years. The skin still needs to be moisturized, just be sure to use an oil free natural product. Zinc PCA is one natural ingredient that has been shown to reduce oil production and gently clean pores.

This oil can be used in many products such as creams, lotions, serums, scrubs, and hair products. The skin readily absorbs coconut oil. It leaves skin felling softer and smoother but not greasy. It is also a hardy oil with a long shelf life. Many natural products break down quickly. Coconut oil contains fatty acids which are great for the skin. It reduces wrinkling and other aging signs.

Coconut oil can also be used for hair and scalp care. Itchy and flaky scalp can be treated with this versatile oil. It moistures and refreshed the hair. It works very well on dry damaged hair, especially hair that has been damaged by color treatments or perms.

High cholesterol is a huge problem in the United States and all around the world. It is the number one causes of heart disease. This problem can be due to heredity, but often it is attributed to lifestyle choices. You can find plenty of medications that are suppose to lower cholesterol. But there are things that can be done to naturally reduce cholesterol.

Cholesterol is a fat that appears in the blood in the form of small particles called lipoproteins. Some cholesterol is good and some is bad. The bad version causes plaque to form in the arteries. The built up of plaque will eventually cause arteries to clog which leads to cardiovascular disease. In order to decrease cholesterol naturally lifestyle changes will have to be made.

The first step if you are overweight is to shed some pounds. Obesity is a main cause of high cholesterol. It also leads to other health problems like high blood pressure and diabetes. The next step is to make dietary changes; avoiding high cholesterol foods and reduce fat. There are foods that can be added that actually help lower cholesterol like flax seeds, almonds, garlic, and oatmeal. A diet high in fiber, fruits and vegetables is always good. Also eating fish at least once per week and taking an omega 3 supplement can be helpful.

Finally you need to implement a regular exercise program. Try to get in exercise at least three times per week; like walking, swimming, running, or tennis.

Everyone worries about wrinkles as they get older. The skin care experts are constantly working on new ingredients to remove wrinkles. For many people the answer is injections such as Botox or even surgery. These are expensive and often scary options. If you do not want to go to the expense or extreme of these treatments there are alternatives. Argireline is one ingredient that is showing great promise as a wrinkle treatment and an alternative to Botox injections.

Argireline is a relatively new product. It works well to reduce wrinkles. In one study it was shown to reduce the depth of wrinkles by thirty percent within thirty days. These are excellent results for a noninvasive treatment. Argireline works by increasing the thickness and firmness of skin. It also increases the amount of collagen the skin productions. As we get older collagen production decreases and existing collagen breaks down. This is one of the primary causes of wrinkling. If you can increase collagen, skin will look and feel much more youthful.

Argireline is manufactured by a reputable company, Lipotec. It is actually the brand name for Acetyl Hexapeptide-3. It reduces wrinkles by relaxing muscle contractions, similar to the way Botox works. The repetitive contraction of muscles is one of the main causes of wrinkling. When the muscle is relaxed wrinkles are not as apparent. Argireline is non-toxic and does not have any known side effects. This makes Argireline an effective alternative to Botox treatments which can have some adverse side effects.

Green tea was used by the ancient Chinese for its many health benefits. Recent studies have confirmed these beliefs. There is evidence that shows that green tea is good for the body in many ways.

We know that green tea is healthy, but does it actually aid in weight loss? There are many that believe it does. It has been shown to increase metabolism and boost energy. It is also good at blocking the absorption of fat. The combination of these things makes it an excellent addition to any diet.

Drinking green tea on its own won’t make you loose all your excess pounds. It can, however, be a good aid in loosing weight and maintaining a healthy weight. Even moderate amounts of green tea have been shown to provide healthy benefits. Adding green tea to a nutritious diet and regular exercise will go a long way toward helping you achieve the weight and fitness that you are looking for.

Green tea has other benefits as well. It has been shown to strengthen the immune system, protect the body against many diseases, and promote oral health. Mental function and focus are believed to be enhanced by drinking green tea. Many experts also believed it can help with the aging process and promote skin health.

You can take green tea in a various ways. You can of course drink it. The benefits are the same whether it is hot or cold. There are many varieties of green tea available so it should not be hard to find one that will work for you. Green tea is also included in many supplements and diet pills.

Many women have dark circles especially as they get older. There are actually several things that lead to dark circles and there are ways to stop them.

Age and heredity are the primary causes of dark circles. Many people inherit a predisposition to dark circles. When blood leaks from the capillaries around the eye area dark circles will appear. If a persons has weaker capillaries they will be more prone to leaks. Skin tone is a factor as well. Dark skin may not show circles as badly.

There are other factors that also contribute to dark circles. Sun exposure increases the melanin levels and also makes the skin look darker. It may make dark circles look more intense.

Often dark circles are blamed on a lack of sleep. Being tired however does not actually cause dark circles but it may make them more apparent. The skin tends to be pale when you are tired or sick. Pale skin makes dark circles more noticeable. Even hormones can make skin pale and make dark circles show up more.

Allergies are also believed to cause dark circles. Many doctors do think that dark circles are a sign of allergies in children. An allergic reaction may cause dark circles to show up. Allergies often cause people to rub their eyes which may make the circles look worse.

Dark circles get worse as a person ages because skin tends to get thinner as we age. This thinner skin will show more discoloration. For this reason most people start noticing dark circles as they age.

Apple Cider Vinegar Scalp Treatment & Rosemary Hair Products

Most people worry a lot about the products they put on their hair, but think very little about their scalp. Truly healthy beautiful hair starts with the scalp. A healthy scalp will lead to better looking hair. One of the healthiest things that you can put on your scalp is apple cider vinegar and works wonders for dandruff, itchy scalp, scalp flakes, seborrheic dermatitis and similar scalp problems. But for the best effects you will need to find the very best apple cider vinegar shampoo available that will cleanse and purify your scalp.

Scalp health depends on the proper Ph and oil balance. Oil on the scalp is produced by the sebum gland. If the sebum is overproducing oil the scalp will be greasy and problems will occur. If the scalp is too dry it will be flaky and a whole set of other problems may occur. We believe one of the best products for dry and dry scalp is rosemary oil for hair. Rosemary oil for hair is amazing for overall health and bringing the scalp back into balance!

There are quite a few problems that people endure with the scalp. Many people experience itching, flaking, crusting, scaling, or bumps on the scalp. The problems are both embarrassing and uncomfortable. Different conditions may cause these kinds of problems. Some of the more typical scalp conditions are seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, seborrhea, psoriasis, and scalp acne. We believe that apple cider vinegar shampoo is the best dandruff shampoo available.

Most products designed for hair and scalp contain chemical ingredients. These chemicals are especially harsh on the scalp. They tend to remove the oil and over dry the scalp. It is important to look for a scalp treatment that is all natural. Be sure to read ingredients labels. Even products that claim to be organic may have up to 30% non organic ingredients.

There are ingredients that work to naturally restore and keep the scalp in balance. Zinc works by regulating the sebum to ensure the proper amount of oil is present on the scalp. Sage and thyme detoxify the scalp naturally. And jojoba oil and emu oil moisturize the scalp. A scalp treatment with some or all of these ingredients will go a long way in creating a healthy scalp and healthy hair.

Does Hoodia Work for Weight Loss?

If you have explored weight loss pills and lately then you have definitely heard of hoodia, pronounced HOO-dee-ah). It is a succulent plant that looks similar to a cactus that is native to South Africa. Weight loss pills containing hoodia have become extremely popular over the last few years.

Hoodia first became popular because there were claims that San Bushmen of the Kalahari desert relied on hoodia for thousands of years to keep from getting hungry on long hunting trips. You can find more info on top rated diet pills by visiting diet pill reivews websites to find the best hoodia diet pills as reviewed by independent hoodia diet pill reivew sites.

Hoodia is thought to work in diet pills by suppressing appetite. There are actually more than thirteen types of hoodia, but only hoodia gordonii is believed to contain the hunger fighting ingredients. Hoodia gordonii can be found in powder, liquid, capsule and tea form in many health food stores. It is in many diet pills including the well known Trimspa.

Does hoodia really work? Even though it is very popular there are not actually any published trails on human showing its effectiveness or safety in pill form. A study on rats did show that injections resulted in them consuming less food than rats injected with a placebo. The manufacturer Phytopharm does cite a trial of eighteen volunteers that cited hoodia supplements reduced food consumption by 1000 calories per day verses the placebo group. This study is interesting but it was not published or subject to a review process.

Even if hoodia does help suppress appetite a healthy diet and exercise are needed to promote true health and weight loss. There are some other products that can help with excess skin after weight loss including body firming creams. Strong firming creams can help to eliminate loose skin after weight loss.
